The MPI Automotive SSMKTY0214 is a stainless 3in turbo-back with a full muffler and no cat for the Toyota Fortuner GUN156R 2.8L 1GD (2015–2025). The chambered muffler makes this the most subdued of the cat-deleted builds — but with the cat removed it remains an off-road-only system.
Is it road legal in NSW?
No. The SSMKTY0214 removes the catalytic converter on a turbo-back system, so it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is for off-road use only. Even with a full muffler fitted, deleting the cat takes out the emissions hardware the Fortuner came with, so this is for off-road or competition vehicles rather than a registered daily.
What does the full muffler change?
