The hotdog is the middle ground here — a straight-through resonator that tidies the note without a full muffler, on a cat-deleted system that's off-road only.
Is it road legal in NSW?
No. The SSMKTY0215 removes the catalytic converter on a turbo-back system, so it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is for off-road use only. The cat delete takes out the emissions hardware the Fortuner came with, which is why this spec is intended for off-road or competition use rather than a registered vehicle.
