The MPI Automotive SSMKTY0346 is a 3in turbo-back for the Toyota Landcruiser 300 Series V6 that deletes the catalytic converter and runs a rear muffler, finishing on a 4in chrome tip. The cat-delete is the defining feature: with the converter removed, this is an off-road-only system, paired with a rear muffler to keep the note in check despite the freer path.
What does the cat-delete mean for road use?
Because the SSMKTY0346 removes the catalytic converter, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road use only. There is no softening this: deleting the cat on a road-relevant system takes the vehicle out of road-legal emissions configuration. We will not fit it for on-road use.
Why pair a cat-delete with a rear muffler and chrome tip?
Removing the converter opens the system up, so MPI runs a rear muffler to keep the note civil rather than raw — the muffler quietens through chambering and absorption. The system finishes on a 4in chrome tip for the visible exit. It is the 300 Series V6 turbo-back built for owners running off-road who still want a managed sound.
