MPI Automotive Toyota Landcruiser VDJ76 4.5L V8 (DPF) Wagon 4in Turbo Back without Cat & with Muffler.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The MPI Automotive SSMKTY0368 deletes the cat but keeps a rear muffler on its 4in turbo-back for the DPF-equipped Toyota Landcruiser VDJ76 4.5L V8 wagon. The muffler tempers the note even with the cat removed.
This 4in turbo-back is the cat-delete build that keeps a rear muffler — so it deletes the catalytic converter for flow but holds a chambered muffler to keep the note in check. On the DPF-equipped VDJ76 wagon that is a different balance to the no-muffler cat-delete builds, which run fully open.
Because this build runs without a catalytic converter, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road and competition use only. The muffler changes the note, not the compliance — removing the cat is what keeps this an off-road part on the DPF wagon.
At 4in the section matches the 4.5-litre V8 turbo-diesel's flow from the turbo back. The retained muffler quietens by baffling sound rather than passing it straight through, so the system flows freely without the cat while staying more subdued than an open build.
