The MPI Automotive SSMKTY0384 is the fully-open turbo-back for the later LandCruiser VDJ79 V8 dual cab — no cat, no muffler, in stainless steel, with a single side exit. It's a 4in system listed to fit the Toyota LandCruiser VDJ79 V8 4.5L turbo-diesel dual cab ute (2016–2025).
What does the no-cat, no-muffler turbo-back do?
A turbo-back replaces the system from the turbo outlet rearward — the longer span where a diesel V8 frees up. With both the catalytic converter and the rear muffler deleted, the SSMKTY0384 runs the bare 4in bore MPI lists for it straight through to a single side exit. There's no silencer in the tail, so it's the loudest and most open of the LandCruiser layouts — a hard, raw note. We quote only the 4in diameter; there's no flow, power or sound data behind the listing.
Why stainless with a single side exit?
Stainless steel is for corrosion life on a working 79 Series exposed to mud, salt and water — MPI lists this as the stainless build, and we don't add a grade beyond what's recorded. The single side exit routes the tailpipe out ahead of the rear wheel rather than over the back bar, which suits a dual cab carrying tow gear or tray work at the rear.
