Built without a muffler, the MPI Automotive SSMKTY0399 is a 4in turbo-back exhaust listed to fit the Toyota VDJ79 V8 4.5L turbo-diesel ute from 2016, with a single side-exit tailpipe. No muffler in the run means nothing in the way of gas flow and the hardest note this design will give.
What does a muffler-delete change?
With no muffler fitted, the SSMKTY0399 leaves the exhaust to flow straight through from the turbo back, which is why it sits at the loud, unfiltered end of the range. There's no chambered or absorptive box to soften the V8 diesel's tone, so this is the choice for owners who want the rawest sound and the least restriction. It's a stainless build for corrosion life on a working ute.
Why a 4in turbo-back?
Turbo-back means the system replaces everything from the turbo outlet rearward — a longer span than a rear-section swap, sized here at 4in to suit the 4.5L V8 diesel. On a vehicle that spends time towing and on dirt, the larger single 4in bore is about keeping the run clear from the turbo back.

This build runs without a catalytic converter, so removing the catalytic converter means it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW, so it's for off-road use only.
