The STM609 is an MPI Automotive Sting Throttle Max controller listed to fit the Mitsubishi Triton, Pajero and Challenger 3.2L turbo-diesel. It plugs into the accelerator-pedal harness to sharpen the response from the throttle, not to alter the engine tune.
What is a throttle controller?
A throttle controller sits between the accelerator pedal and the drive-by-wire signal the engine reads. On a 3.2L turbo-diesel like the Triton's, the factory pedal map is deliberately soft off idle, which feels like lag from a standstill or when stepping on it for an overtake. The STM609 reshapes that pedal signal so the same pedal travel asks for throttle sooner. It does not touch fuelling, boost or the ECU calibration — it changes how the pedal is interpreted, with selectable response modes.
