What is a hotdog resonator?
The distinguishing feature is the type: a hotdog is a compact straight-through resonator — a perforated core wrapped in absorptive packing — that flows freely while taking the edge off the note. As the centre Everflo unit for the Falcon ute it does lighter silencing than a chambered muffler. With no internal baffling, the hotdog flows freely and shifts only part of the note, sitting on the mid-mounts shared closely enough across the BA, BF and FG utes for one centre unit to serve them.
