Built around a hotdog rather than a chambered box, this 2in cat-back kit (FORD-FALCON-BA-BF-UTE-XR-XR6-2-1-2-CATBACK-KIT-INC-HOTDOG-DUAL-TAILPIPE) fits the Ford Falcon BA–BF XR / XR6 ute and finishes through a dual tailpipe. The hotdog is the silencer of choice here — compact, straight-through, and freer-flowing than a full muffler.
Why a hotdog and a dual tailpipe?
A hotdog is a compact straight-through resonator: the gas runs straight through a slim cylinder, so it takes the edge off the note without the restriction or bulk of a chambered muffler. That keeps the note harder and the flow freer than a muffler-based kit. Finishing through a dual tailpipe gives the XR ute a twin exit at the rear, which is the visual and routing difference at the back of the tray.
What's a 2in cat-back and what's in this kit?
A cat-back replaces the exhaust from the catalytic converter rearward without touching the engine or the emissions hardware ahead of the cat. On a 2in bore it suits the standard XR / XR6 ute. Supplied by Exhaust Systems Australia, this is a kit — it includes the hotdog and the dual tailpipe to complete the rear section in one package.
