The hotdog is the difference here: a compact straight-through resonator that trims drone ahead of the main muffler.
What does the hotdog add over a plain muffler?
A hotdog is a small straight-through resonator — a perforated core wrapped in packing — that targets the booming mid-range frequencies that cause cabin drone on a long six-cylinder Falcon. Sitting in line ahead of the Everflo rear muffler, it takes the edge off the resonant notes before the muffler does the broader quietening. The result is a cleaner, less hollow note than a single-muffler setup, without going louder.
