The MPI Automotive FORH250 is a 1-3/4in primary, 4-into-1 extractor set with 3in outlets, listed to fit the petrol 5.4L V8 Ford F250. It replaces the factory manifolds on that big-bore petrol ute.
What does a 4-into-1 extractor do?
A 4-into-1 extractor collects the four runners on each bank into a single collector. The FORH250 uses 1-3/4in primary tubes feeding 3in outlets, which is the geometry MPI has chosen for the 5.4L V8. It replaces the cast factory manifold with tubular runners so the engine breathes out with less restriction; it is a breathing change on the exhaust side, not an internal engine part.
What's the 3in outlet about?
The collectors finish in 3in outlets, which set the pipe size the rest of the system mates to. On a heavy petrol V8 like the F250's 5.4L, that larger outlet keeps the exhaust path consistent from the head back.
