An extractor replaces the cast factory exhaust manifold with separate tuned tubes that merge downstream, easing the back-pressure a compact cast manifold creates so each cylinder breathes out more freely. The HPC-S adds a silver ceramic coating over the steel, applied to help the tubes shed heat and resist surface corrosion versus bare steel. On a small DOHC 16-valve four it bolts on at the head and leaves the muffler and tailpipe behind it unchanged.
