The MPI Automotive FX-150 is an extractor listed to fit the Econovan, Courier and Spectron with the 1800, 2000 and 2200 engines. It replaces the factory cast manifold across this van and ute family.
What is an extractor and what does it do?
An extractor, or header, swaps the factory cast exhaust manifold for separate tubes that merge downstream. The point is to ease the back-pressure a compact cast manifold creates so each cylinder can breathe out more freely. It bolts on at the head as the first exhaust step and joins into the rest of the system behind it, so it does not change the muffler or tailpipe. On working vans and utes like these it is a manifold-stage upgrade rather than a full exhaust.
