The MPI Automotive FX-150HPC-S is a silver ceramic-coated extractor listed to fit the Econovan, Courier and Spectron with the 1800, 2000 and 2200 engines. It is the coated version of the FX-150 header for this van and ute family.

What is an extractor and what does it do?

An extractor, or header, replaces the factory cast exhaust manifold with separate tubes that merge downstream. The aim is to ease the back-pressure a compact cast manifold creates so each cylinder breathes out more freely. It bolts on at the head as the first exhaust step and joins into the rest of the system behind it, so it does not change the muffler or tailpipe. On working vans and utes like these it is a manifold-stage upgrade rather than a full system.

What does the ceramic coating add?

The HPC-S in the part number marks the silver ceramic-coated finish. A ceramic coating is applied to the tube surface mainly to manage heat and surface durability compared with a bare header. Beyond the finish this is the same extractor as the uncoated FX-150 listed for the same models, so the application is the same — the difference is the coating, not the design.

Will it suit my Econovan, Courier or Spectron?

It's listed to fit the Econovan, Courier and Spectron with the 1800, 2000 and 2200 engines. Because that spans more than one body and several engine sizes, confirm your exact model and engine with the workshop before ordering so we match the right header to your vehicle.

What does fitting involve at our Illawarra workshop?

Oak Flats Muffler Men fits coated extractors like the FX-150HPC-S in-house across the Illawarra. We match the flange to your head, sort gaskets and clearance, and join it into the system. The recommended retail is $1,165.35. An extractor sits ahead of the emissions hardware, so confirm any compliance requirements for your van with us before fitting. Send your details and we'll confirm fit and book the bay.
