The MPI Automotive FX-157 is the twin-cam extractor for the Ford Laser KF — a set cut specifically for the 1.8-litre twin-cam head, fitted from 1990 on. The twin-cam port spacing is what defines this part and separates it from the single-cam Laser extractor.
Why is the twin-cam head the deciding detail?
The KF Laser's 1.8-litre came in single-cam and twin-cam forms, and the two heads don't share the same exhaust flange and port layout. The FX-157 is the twin-cam set, so it bolts to the twin-cam head's pattern — fit the wrong one and the flange won't line up. If your Laser runs the twin-cam 1.8, this is the matched extractor; if it's the single-cam engine, that's a different part number entirely.
