The MPI Automotive FX-157HPC-S is a ceramic-coated extractor listed to fit the Ford Laser KF 1.8L twin-cam from 1990 on. The silver ceramic coating separates it from the plain version.
What is a ceramic-coated extractor?
An extractor replaces the cast factory exhaust manifold with separate tuned tubes that merge downstream, easing the back-pressure a compact cast manifold creates so each cylinder breathes out more freely. The HPC-S adds a silver ceramic coating over the steel, applied to help the tubes shed heat and resist surface corrosion versus bare or painted steel. On a small twin-cam four like the Laser's 1.8L it bolts on at the head and leaves the muffler and tailpipe behind it unchanged.
