The MPI Automotive FX-162 is a single-out extractor set listed to fit the Ford Falcon XR through XB with the six-cylinder engine. It replaces the factory manifold to give the inline six a cleaner exit from the head.
What is a single-out extractor?
An extractor, or header, swaps the cast factory exhaust manifold for separate tuned tubes that merge downstream. Single-out means those tubes collect into one outlet rather than splitting into a twin run. The point is to ease the back-pressure a compact cast manifold creates so each cylinder breathes out more freely. It is a bolt-on change at the head and does not touch the mufflers or tailpipe behind it.
