The MPI Automotive FX-165HPC-S is a ceramic-coated extractor set listed to fit the Ford Cortina TD, TE and TF, plus the F100 and Bronco, with the six-cylinder 200, 250 and 4.1L engines. The silver ceramic coating is the difference between this and the plain version.
What is a ceramic-coated extractor?
An extractor replaces the cast factory exhaust manifold with separate tuned tubes that merge downstream, helping each cylinder breathe out more freely than a compact cast manifold allows. The HPC-S part adds a silver ceramic coating over the steel. A ceramic coat is applied to help the tubes shed heat and resist surface corrosion compared with bare or painted steel, which is why people choose it for an engine bay they want to keep tidy. It does not change the muffler or tailpipe behind it.
