The MPI Automotive FX-172HPC-S is the ceramic-coated silver extractor for the Ford Falcon EA–EL 3.9 (EFI and MPI), the HPC-finished version for the inline-six Falcons of that run.
Why ceramic-coated silver?
The HPC-S marks the ceramic-coated silver version. The coating is a thermal barrier that keeps heat inside the tubes rather than letting it soak the bay, helping underbonnet temperatures, and gives a durable silver finish that resists corrosion and bluing. On a 3.9 Falcon six that gets driven, it's the coated step up from a bare set for heat control and looks.
