What does a 4-into-1 extractor change?
A 4-into-1 extractor replaces the factory cast manifold with four separate primary pipes that merge into a single collector off each bank of the Boss V8. Giving each cylinder its own length of runner before the merge lets the exhaust pulses leave more cleanly than through a shared cast lump. The FX-219 uses 1-3/4in primaries into a 3in outlet, so it is sized for the 5.4L V8 it is built for, and replaces the manifold while the rest of the system runs behind it.
