The MPI Automotive FX-411 is a set of extractors listed to fit the Hyundai Tiburon V6. It replaces the factory cast exhaust manifolds at the cylinder heads with a tubular extractor design.
What's an extractor and what does it do?
An extractor, or header, replaces the cast manifold bolted to the cylinder head with a set of tubes, giving each port its own runner before they merge. The aim is to reduce the back-pressure the engine works against as it clears spent gas. It's the first item in the exhaust, sitting right at the engine, with the rest of the system running behind it. Because the Tiburon's engine is a V6, an extractor set covers both banks of the engine rather than a single side. It's a breathing change at the heads only; it doesn't alter the engine's capacity or its fuelling.
