The MPI Automotive FX-885 is a V8 extractor set listed to fit the Land Rover Discovery Series 1 (1993–1998) and includes a Y-pipe. It's the header section that replaces the factory exhaust manifolds at the heads.
What does this extractor cover?
The FX-885 is a header set for the 3.9L Land Rover V8, and it ships with a Y-pipe that ties the two banks together downstream of the extractors. That makes it more than just the manifolds — it carries the exhaust through to where the rest of the system picks up. Extractors swap the cast factory manifolds for tuned-length tubes to reduce back-pressure at the head. We don't publish power or sound figures, because the supplier doesn't.
What's an extractor and where does it sit?
On a V8 you have a manifold per bank; an extractor replaces each cast manifold with separate tubes that merge before joining the Y-pipe. It's the very front of the exhaust, bolted to the heads, rather than anything under the cabin. On a Series 1 Discovery of this era that's older hardware, so condition of the surrounding pipework matters as much as the part itself.
