Redback 2.5" Catback Exhaust.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The Redback K-RPM15722 is a 2.5in cat-back exhaust for the Holden Commodore VL and Calais (01/1986–1988), run with the rear muffler deleted. The deleted rear box gives the early Commodore a louder, more open note at the back.
This cat-back runs from behind the catalytic converter to the tailpipe, with the rear silencer left out. Removing it takes away a stage of quietening, so the result is louder and harder than a fully muffled system. On the late-'80s VL it's the path for an owner who wants a more open exhaust note and is happy with the extra volume.
It's listed for the VL Commodore and Calais from 01/1986 to 1988 — the earliest cars in this family, with their own floor and rear-end layout. A cat-back cut for the VL is shaped to suit that period's routing rather than a later Commodore. The 2.5in bore is the larger of the common Commodore pipe sizes for this kit.
As a cat-back it sits behind the catalytic converter and doesn't alter the cat; the supplier doesn't publish whether a cat is included. The rear-muffler delete makes it louder, and noise limits apply separately to emissions, so confirm your state's noise rules and the exact build with the workshop before fitting.
Oak Flats Muffler Men supplies and fits this cat-back in-house across the Illawarra. On an older car like the VL we check the existing pipework and hangers carefully, mate the kit up and set the tailpipe. Bring the car in and we'll confirm the fit and the louder note before booking.
