K-RPM16021 is a dual 3in engine-back exhaust for the Holden Commodore, running hotdog resonators through the system. Supplied by Redback, an engine-back is the longest run on the list — it replaces the exhaust from the engine all the way back, in a full twin 3in layout.

What does an engine-back system cover?

Engine-back means the exhaust is replaced from the engine rearward — a longer span than a cat-back, taking in more of the pipework where a bigger bore can free things up. Here it's a dual 3in layout, so both banks run their own 3in pipe back through hotdog resonators to the rear. The hotdogs tune drone in a free-flowing, straight-through way rather than choking the run with heavy chambered boxes. It's a complete twin run, not a single section.

Why the dual 3in bore?

At 3in per side this is the larger pipe size, sized for a bigger or modified Commodore rather than stock pipework — the dual layout gives each bank its own path back. The 3in bore keeps flow up across the length of the run. It's listed to fit the Holden Commodore; confirm your exact model, engine and any prior work with the workshop, as a full engine-back is a significant fit.

Is it road legal?

This is an exhaust pipework kit running resonators rather than a cat-delete part. Whether the finished car meets noise and emissions requirements depends on the catalytic converters and the rest of the build, which stay as fitted, so confirm the complete setup suits your registration and use. The workshop will go through this with you before fitting.

What does fitting involve at our Illawarra workshop?

Oak Flats Muffler Men supplies and fits engine-back systems like this in-house across the Illawarra. A full dual 3in run takes proper bench time — we fit both banks, set the hotdog positions, and check clearances and hangers along the length. Bring your Commodore in and we'll confirm the build and book the bay.

Dual 3in — a 3in pipe per bank, sized for a bigger or modified Commodore.
