Run without a rear muffler, the Redback K-RPM16026 is a dual 3in cat-back listed to fit the Holden Commodore Ute VT–VZ from 1997 to 2007. Leaving the rear box out is the whole point — it's the louder, freer-flowing way to set up the twin 3in ute.
What does running without the rear muffler do?
With no rear box to absorb volume, the K-RPM16026 lets the dual 3in pipework exit more openly, so the note is louder and harder than the with-muffler version. It's the configuration for an owner who wants the twin 3in ute to make itself heard. This is a muffler-free rear, not a cat delete — the catalytic converter side isn't touched.
What does the cat-back cover?
A cat-back replaces the exhaust from the catalytic converter back to the tailpipe. On the VT–VZ Ute that's the centre and rear pipework in dual 3in, routed for the tray, but here without the rear muffler in the run. The factory cat stays where Holden fitted it.
Is it road legal in NSW?
Because the cat stays, the emissions hardware isn't the issue — noise is. Running the twin 3in ute without a rear muffler raises volume, and NSW stationary and drive-by noise limits apply for registration. Confirm the build and any noise requirements with the workshop before fitting.
