One rear resonator and nothing else in the run — that single tuning silencer is what defines the Pacemaker KB9010-XXXR, the 3in turbo-back listed for the manual-only Mitsubishi Pajero NS (4M41T 3.2L turbo-diesel, November 2006 to August 2009). It is the lightly-silenced middle ground: freer than a muffled build, with only the drone frequencies tuned out.
Why a rear resonator and no centre muffler?
This layout skips the centre muffler entirely and leans on one rear resonator to do the silencing. A resonator is a tuning device rather than a broad absorber — it cancels a narrow frequency band, and on the 4M41T the band that matters is the constant-cruise boom that otherwise carries into the cabin. With no centre can sitting in the way, the gas takes a more open path the whole length of the system, so the note lands fuller and more present than stock while the resonator keeps the worst of the highway drone in check.
