The MPI Automotive MKMA0019 deletes the catalytic converter and tunes the system with a hotdog. Listed to fit the Mazda BT-50 DPF 3.2L, the cat-delete makes it off-road only, while the hotdog keeps drone in check on this DPF-generation ute.
Why is this off-road only?
Because the MKMA0019 deletes the catalytic converter on a DPF-equipped system, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road use only. Removing the cat takes out emissions hardware the BT-50 needs to be road-legal — we state that plainly so you can weigh it before ordering.
What does the hotdog do here?
Rather than a full muffler, this build uses a hotdog — a compact straight-through resonator. It cuts resonance and drone with minimal restriction, so with the cat gone the DPF BT-50 keeps a free-breathing path and a hard, present note while the hotdog stops the worst of the cabin boom. It sits between the fully stripped, no-muffler section and a quieter muffled build.
