Coated in HPC ceramic from the start, the MPI Automotive SSMKFD0310 puts a thermal-barrier extractor at the front of a 3in full system for the 2015–2017 FM Mustang 5.0L V8. The coating holds heat in the pipe and resists bluing; the system finishes through 4in tips.

What the HPC ceramic coating brings

The SSMKFD0310's lead trait is its HPC ceramic-coated extractor. The coating works as a thermal barrier, keeping exhaust heat inside the tube to help lower underbonnet temperatures and steady the intake-air picture, while the durable silver finish resists the corrosion and bluing that a bare header takes on. It's the done-once path versus buying a raw extractor and wrapping or coating it down the track.

What's in the full system for the FM Mustang?

This is a complete 3in run for the 2015–2017 FM: the HPC-coated extractor up front, a centre hotdog resonator, rear mufflers and 4in tips at the back. The factory manifolds and exhaust come out and the SSMKFD0310 goes in as one matched package, sized for the FM 5.0L V8. The hotdog and rear mufflers handle the silencing together so the note is shaped rather than left raw.

What's an extractor and what's the trade-off?

Extractors are tuned-length headers replacing the restrictive cast manifolds the Coyote V8 wore from the factory, giving each cylinder its own primary tube before the merge to cut back-pressure and aid scavenging. The usual trade-offs apply even coated: headers sit in the engine-bay heat zone, take labour to fit, and change the note — the ceramic coating is what addresses the heat and corrosion side a bare set leaves open.

Will it suit my FM Mustang, and what's the fitting?

It's listed to fit the 2015–2017 FM Mustang 5.0L V8; send your build and Oak Flats Muffler Men will confirm it before ordering. Fitting at our Illawarra workshop means removing the factory manifolds and exhaust, hanging the coated extractor, then routing the 3in system through the centre hotdog, rear mufflers and out to the 4in tips with clearance checks underneath. At an RRP of $6,755.13 it's a special-order set, so we confirm fitment and lead time first.

Common questions

Why does the SSMKFD0310 come ceramic-coated?

What does the system finish in?
It finishes through 4in tips, with a centre hotdog and rear mufflers ahead of them on the 3in run.
Will it fit my 2015–2017 FM Mustang?
It's listed to fit the FM Mustang 5.0L V8 from 2015 to 2017. Confirm your exact build with the workshop before ordering.
