On the 2020-on Mazda BT-50 3.0L, the MPI Automotive SSMKMA0018 takes the turbo-back to its bare layout — no catalytic converter and no rear muffler. With the cat removed, it's an off-road-only system in NSW.

Is it road legal?

No. The SSMKMA0018 deletes the catalytic converter on the BT-50's diesel system, so it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is for off-road and competition use only. The rear muffler is removed as well, but it's the cat-delete that sets the legal line. We state that plainly — there's no registered-road version of this configuration.

What does stripping both the cat and muffler do to the BT-50?

A turbo-back already covers the longest span on this ute, replacing everything from the turbo outlet rearward — the section where the 3.0L diesel tends to free up.
