Redback 2.5" Performance Rear Muffler.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

Built to a 2.5in bore, the Redback STR104 is a performance rear muffler listed to fit the Holden Commodore VB to VS sedan with the live axle. The 2.5in size is the headline — it's the rear silencer sized up for these early Commodores rather than a stock-bore replacement.
A 2.5in rear muffler steps the back of the system up from a tighter stock pipe, suiting the six and V8 Commodores of the VB–VS era. As a chambered muffler it still quietens by reflection and absorption rather than running straight-through, so it frees the exit a little while keeping a usable street note. The 2.5in figure is the one hard number on this part.
This muffler is listed specifically for the live-axle VB–VS sedan. That detail matters because the rear suspension and floor packaging dictate hanger positions and clearance for the rear muffler. Confirm your car is the live-axle sedan — and your exact series — with the workshop before ordering.
As a rear muffler the STR104 replaces the existing rear silencer only. It leaves any centre section and catalytic converter alone, so it changes the back of the system — a tidy option when the original rear muffler has rusted out or you want a slightly freer 2.5in exit on an early Commodore.
Oak Flats Muffler Men supplies and fits the STR104 in-house across the Illawarra. We check the 2.5in inlet and outlet against your Commodore's pipework, confirm the live-axle hanger positions, and fit it in the bay. Send your series and we'll confirm the fit.
