The Redback STR210 is a 2.5in centre exhaust muffler listed to fit the 4L six-cylinder XR6 Falcon — EA, EB, ED, EF, EL and AU sedan. It's the mid-system muffler built around the 4.0-litre six rather than a V8.
What suits the 4L six in the centre?
The 4L XR6 six moves a particular volume of gas, and a 2.5in centre muffler is sized to suit it — easing the factory restriction through the middle of the system without oversizing the pipe for a six-cylinder. The STR210 is that centre section, doing part of the quietening before the rear of the car.
Where does a centre muffler sit?
