Redback 2.5" Centre Muffler.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The Redback STR243 is a 2.5in centre muffler listed to fit the Ford Falcon AU ute. It's the mid-system muffler shaped for the ute body specifically, not the sedan.
The STR243 sits mid-system on the AU ute, carrying part of the quietening at a 2.5in bore before the gas reaches the rear. As a chambered centre muffler it eases flow over a tired factory section while keeping the note controlled through the middle of the system. It's the part you reach for when the centre of an AU ute's exhaust has rusted or blown out and you want to freshen the middle of the run rather than replace the whole system.
The AU ute routes its exhaust over a different rear floor and tray layout than the sedan, so the centre section is shaped to suit the ute. Fitting the body-correct part is what keeps the muffler and joins clearing properly along the ute's underbody.
A 2.5in bore suits the AU's drivetrain in the centre — enough to clear the factory restriction without oversizing for street use. It's the standard upgrade size when the aim is a freer-flowing centre that still behaves on the road.
Oak Flats Muffler Men fits AU centre mufflers like the STR243 in-house across the Illawarra. We check the 2.5in section clears the ute floor and the joins line up at both ends, then book the bay once it's confirmed for your ute. We also inspect the pipe it mates to front and rear before fitting, so the new muffler seals to sound metal, and confirm the listing matches your build before ordering.
